FIFA president Sepp Blatter says he will resign from soccer's governing body amid a widening corruption scandal and has promised to call for fresh elections to choose a successor.
Blatter was reelected to a 5th term on Friday, 2 days after a corruption crisis erupted and 7 soccer officials were arrested.
Divers continue to search for survivors of an overturned cruise ship on China's Yangtze River. More than 400 people are still missing.
The ship's captain and chief engineer were among the few rescued.
A man who was under surveillance by the FBI's joint terrorism task forces was fatally shot Tuesday by police in Boston after authorities say he lunged them with a knife.
