Former Boston crime boss "Whitey" Bulger has been convicted in a string of 11 killings and other underworld crimes. The 83-year-old Bulger faces life in prison for his role in the killings during the 1970s and '80s while he led the Winter Hill gang, Boston’s Irish mob.
Egypt's interim government has postponed plans to disperse sit-ins in Cairo after supporters of toppled President Mohammed Mmorsi flooded into two protest camps.The decision leaves open hope for talks, but the Islamists have rejected negotiations with the new government.
Federal authorities say the 16-year-old girl who was kidnapped last week and rescued in Idaho has returned to California with her father. Hannah Anderson was reunited with her father Brett Anderson at a hospital in Boise.
And in Baltimore, scientists are developing a vegan fish food that can be fed to meat eating fish. Pellets made of corn, soy bean and protein supplements are being fed to striped bass and other popular species. The vegan mixture produces a cleaner fish and should be on the market in five years.
