    The Washington Navy Yard has reopened for normal operation, with returning employees saying they still feel unsettled after the shooting earlier this week in which a gunman killed 12 people.

    Floods and landslides swept across Mexico killing at least 97 people not counting those missing in the remote mountain village of La Pintada on the outskirts of Acapulco. Some 35,000 homes across the country were damaged or destroyed.

    The Colorado national guard says the motto was "no pets are left behind" and they evacuate people from the raging flood water. Hundreds of pets have been ferried to safety with their owners via helicopter or rescue in ground operation.

    Thousands of people lined the shores of Taiwan's largest harbor to cheer the arrival of a massive yellow rubber duck, Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman has taken his creation around the world to spread a message of happiness, it will be heading to the US soon.
